Join and Support Museum Africa
President John F. Kennedy once asked all Americans to give more of themselves to something larger than themselves. Here at Museum Africa, we ask that you apply Kennedy's ideals of public service and personal generosity to support Museum Africa.
Your personal contribution to Museum Africa will help extend the work of the energetic, inspiring young president who challenged his fellow citizens to build a better world -- a world rooted in compassion and tolerance of others.
Tax-deductible contributions to Museum Africa provide vital support for the preservation and use of the huge collections of Museum Africa. Your gifts support Museum exhibits that are a source of inspiration to citizens worldwide who seek to experience the vitality and spirit of ancient African civilizations. And every year, Museum Africa presents educational programs, civic forums, and public service awards that promote excellence.
Please join us by becoming a member, making a gift, creating a legacy, and becoming a corporate and foundation partner. Thank you for helping perpetuate Museum Africa's timeless ideals.
Ways to Give
You can contribute to the Museum Africa Capital Campaign in a variety of ways. Your method of giving depends on your financial situation. Staff at Chicago Metropolitan Museum and Library of African History Foundation, in particular, Lisa Smith, Development Director, can assist you in planning the type of contribution that makes the most sense for you. All gifts to Museum Africa are tax deductible and qualify for an Illinois Tax Credit.
Gifts of Cash
Give a one-time cash contribution or make a multi-year pledge with scheduled payments that are in synch with your budget. Checks are to be made payable to the Chicago Metropolitan Museum and Library of African History Foundation to qualify for the Illinois Tax Credit.
Appreciated Securities
There are distinct tax advantages to giving appreciated securities to our capital campaign. Tax law allows for a generous income tax deduction for the full market value of securities, and the donor does not pay tax on the appreciation.
